How to compare peptide prices per mg
The price tag hides the amount. How to turn any listing into a price per milligram, and what that number leaves out. · 3 Oct 2026
Two listings for the same compound can look ten dollars apart and still cost the same for the amount you get — or the cheaper-looking one can cost far more. The fair way to compare them is the price per milligram.
Why the price tag misleads
Vendors sell the same compound in different amounts per vial and in different pack sizes. A 5 mg vial at $45 looks cheaper than a 10 mg vial at $80, but it is not:
- 5 mg for $45 is $9.00 per mg.
- 10 mg for $80 is $8.00 per mg.
The bigger vial is the better price, even though its price tag is higher. The same goes for pack sizes: a 10-vial kit has a large price tag and often the lowest price per mg.
The calculation
For a single compound, divide the price of the listing by the total amount it contains:
price per mg = price ÷ (number of vials × mg per vial)
A worked example — a kit of 10 vials of 5 mg each, for $300:
- Total amount: 10 × 5 mg = 50 mg.
- Price per mg: $300 ÷ 50 mg = $6.00 per mg.
This is the calculation behind every price per mg on PepSpotter. The BPC-157 comparison puts every vendor side by side on this basis, cheapest first.
Check the listing before you trust the number
The calculation is only as good as what the listing states. Before relying on a price per mg, check:
- The amount per vial. It should be written in mg on the listing, not only shown in a product photo. A listing that does not state its amount cannot be compared per mg; PepSpotter leaves it out of the comparison instead of guessing.
- The pack size. "Kit", "box" or "pack" should come with a number of vials. Without it, the price could be for one vial or for ten.
- Stock. A low price on an out-of-stock listing is not a price you can pay today. PepSpotter shows stock beside every price.
- The currency. A price in Canadian dollars has to be converted before it can be compared with one in US dollars. PepSpotter uses the European Central Bank's reference rate and shows its date.
What the number leaves out
A price per mg compares product prices only. It does not include:
- shipping, which can be free above a threshold — or cost more than a cheap vial;
- tax and import duties, which depend on where the order goes;
- discount codes, which PepSpotter does not collect yet;
- payment fees that some stores add at checkout.
Use the price per mg to find the cheapest listings, then check the full total at the vendor's checkout. The checkout is always final.
How fresh the prices are
PepSpotter reads every vendor's public product listings once a day and checks them before they appear on the site. Every price shows when it was last checked, and a price that has not been re-checked for 48 hours is marked as stale. Vendors can change a price at any time, so a price may have moved since the last read.
Blends are different
A blend holds two or more compounds in one vial. Its price per mg would mix different compounds into one number, so PepSpotter never compares blends per mg — it compares one exact mix at a time, per vial. How blends are priced explains why.
In short
- Compare per mg, not per vial or per pack price tag.
- Make sure the listing states its amount and its pack size.
- Check stock, currency and the full checkout total before deciding.
